Why do we need a stripe on the side. The orange with contrasting white lettering does well… if you ask me.
Should do this
Because that angled stripe has been our identity and our history since 1967. And because unless there’s a distinctive stripe on the side, you can’t tell a USCG RB-S from a ICE RB-S or a NY State Department of Environmental Police RB-S, etc. etc. You can’t read the white lettering until you’re right on top of the vessel, but you can see that racing stripe and identify it as a CG vessel from a long way off.
