Caltrain should remind their conductors that they are in the service business, and that kicking customers off trains whenever possible is not part of their job description

I almost raised a big ruckus on behalf of some beleaguered passengers with bikes. The conductor had not been there where they boarded to tell them that the bike car was full. Instead, when she found out a few stops later that they were on board and the bike car was past capacity, she told them they’d have to get off at the next stop (stranding them miles from anyplace they’d want to be, through no fault of their own). Ridiculous. Luckily, other bike-bearing passengers were about to detrain, opening up space in the bike car. The situation was so unfair: if they’d been forced off the train, I would have lodged a very vociferous complaint against the conductor.
