Canon should release a compact camera with a 6MP APS sized sensor, fixed 24mm ƒ2.0 lens

6MP sensor using todays technology = noise free images at high ISO, and is just fine for snapshots. really. you don’t need more than that. A 12 megapixel camera that stays at home (because it doesn’t fit in your pocket) doesn’t take great pictures.

24mm prime lens = 6 million really really good pixels, instead of 12 million pixels of fuzzy abberated junk.

(Basically, take a G9, replace the zoom lens with a prime, and put in a physically larger sensor with less pixels. CF would be nice.)
