If I am paying for a suggestion box, there is a good chance that I’m going to promote it from my site or blog. More than anything, I want my readers, customers and fans to contribute.
As it is now, a paid suggestion box overlaps with the larger SDT community. This certainly has benefits, but I may want to make my box more isolated so that I can hear from people that are more likely to be informed about my product/service.
My concern is this: Let’s say I have a link on my blog to my suggestion box. Someone clicks and is suddenly in SDT-land for the first time. As a paid subscriber, my goal is to get them to participate on my box and make it sooper-dooper easy. With the overlap currently, they may become confused about what is my box vs. what happens in the larger community.
One example is the user’s ability to change the field before “should” to create a new box. I want to be able to lock that field to focus on my product/company/service.
Obviously, this suggestion is geared for small companies who may not have enough visibility to rely on the larger community to be interested.
