Should Do This should somehow alert the person/entity that is supposed to be doing the activity

Perhaps after a suggestion is made, provide a button to e-mail the person (or entity) who is supposed to take the suggestion. Then the user could provide an e-mail address. I wouldn’t attach that e-mail address to the suggestee’s profile, just send a one-time message through the site from the suggestor.

Should Do This should allow combining of similar "shoulds" which are worded differently

The 43 Things approach is a more reasonable solution than the 43 Places-style solution. Let’s see it!

Should Do This has done get a better design

Great work, folks!

43 Things has done bring back and keep working on shoulddothis.com

At the moment, Should Do This is a mirror for 43 Places. I like the Should Do This concept and hope the Robots come back to the project.

Should Do This has done get a better design

It’s not terrible as-is, but it’s a little bit no-frills. It’s like the generic brand of toilet paper at the grocery store – it does the job, but the package isn’t as pretty as the more expensive brands.

Should Do This has done make the search box work

Great! Thanks for doing that! I would vote it done if the “has done this” button worked…

Should Do This should allow combining of similar "shoulds" which are worded differently

For example, Should Do This should:

“let me comment on an entry even if the original poster hasn’t written an entry yet”

AND

“let us discuss every suggestion”

These are apparently the same goal. Perhaps we can combine them like we can combine similar places on 43 Places.

Should Do This has done fix the buttons for Likely/Unlikely and Should Do This/Should Not Do This/Has Done This

They don’t work for me at all. When I roll my mouse over them, there is no URL in the status bar, signifying that at least my browser sees no action associated with any of these buttons.

By the way, I think this is likely to be accomplished soon.

Should Do This has done tell me why it doesn't work when I hit "unlikely" or "likely", or the part where it says "should do this" or "has done this" 1 cheer

Although I will shortly make a more succinctly-worded goal on this point (fix the buttons for Likely/Unlikely and Should Do This/Should Not Do This/Has Done This), I joined Christine’s goal to get it more notice. These buttons do not work for me at all – the only way I can join an existing “should” is to copy the exact text and paste it into the should __ box. I have never been able to vote for likely or unlikely. I am running IE 7 on XP, if it matters.

43 Things should Change the wording on Zeitgeist to "people to whom you're subscribed" 1 cheer

Agreed – this is something up with which we should not put.
