Web developers has done take a serious look at Ruby on Rails

RoR is a very popular option today and generally considered quite terrible in many regards. Of course it’s better than many alternatives and if “web developer” means Dreamweaver monkey, then absolutely.

I’m saying “has done this” because of the high popularity, but those who aren’t familiar with it should see it and make sure they also find something better to use. :)

Picasa should allow sending images to external editors/filters

Especially sending to image editing software with a different paradigm such as the Gimp or Photoshop, a de-noiser like Neatimage or Noise Ninja or possibly filters or scripts.

Ideally, picasa would give the “editor” a temporary file or its own working copy. Once the images is saved again by the external editor, Picasa could enter the revision to its own version tracking so you could “undo” external edits etc.

Should Do This should allow people to merge existing accounts with OpenID (in case we missed OpenID login during sign up) 1 cheer

There are other reasons we might not have done the first login with an openid, but want to start using one now, of course.

Google should fix the infinite redirect for docs.g

I seems that the redirect loop is finally gone. Docs works for the first time.

Nokia should stop using proprietary connectivity software

Namely NCDS, which is just vile. If they made standards compliant interfaces, things would Just Work with any OS, any pda, any device that there is, was or will be.

Texas Instruments should bring back the TI-86

The brilliant and appropriate classic TI-86 calculator has been discontinued and there is no model that adequately replaces it. Many are too “advanced” to be used in schools, leading to schools suggesting Casio and other competitors which are inadequate further on. Other models are inadequate themselves.

The TI-86 could use an overhaul in power management (only alkalines having adequate voltage, AAA having poor capacity etc) and maybe a few other features but it is irreplaceable. People can only hoard from the second hand market now.

Picasa should allow setting collage size

Currently the “collage” button allowing making of grids, image piles, multiple exposures and the like easily only makes tiny images (1024×1024?).

Picasa should support "raw" image workflow

Picasa barely loads raw images and doesn’t seem to use the extra dynamic range etc for anything.
