Should Do This has done keep track of when a suggestion is decided to be "probably done"

Now, we’ll keep track of when a suggestion is marked “probably done”... when as many or more people on a suggestion think it is done, or 10 people do, whichever comes first. And we can tweak the algorithm as we go along.

Should Do This has done keep track of when a suggestion is decided to be "probably done"

This is something that we should’ve kept track of on our other sites, like 43 Things. There’s a timestamp for when a suggestion is created, when it was last updated, and when it was deleted… however, there isn’t a timestamp for when a suggestion is marked as probably done (when a certain percentage of people mark something as done).

If we did keep track of this information, we could then compare it to peoples’ predictions for when they thought it would be done, as well as display recently completed suggestions. Etc. Lots of hilarity ensues.

Miranda July should make another movie

It is one of my favorite movies… not because the acting is incredibly great… but this spirit of it is authentic and beautiful and real. This movie speaks for me, in a way that I can’t speak for myself because all of my art turns out to be cheesy and Disney-esque.

parents should tell the truth about Santa Claus 5 cheers

Of course, I have no authority with which to make this statement, but I think it’s silly to continue this stupid tradition of Santa Claus. I mean, what does Santa Claus mean anymore? What is the reasoning for this collective deception? Why do gifts need to be tied to the ethical behavior of children as judged by a fat white man in pajamas? Tell them that it’s in your hands, you hold the power over their puny lives, reindeer can’t fly, the North Pole is boring, chimney’s are dirty, and what the hell is lost? Nothing. What is gained? That boring conversation when they’re 6 or whatever. Even better if you can get your kids to smash the illusions of other fooled kids. Get it over with, and quick.

outer space should have aliens 7 cheers

Well, who knows, the aliens might have brains. Or maybe they think with their toes. I don’t care. What I mostly want is to be proven that there are more and more things that don’t make sense. I want aliens to break all of our assumptions about how life happens, what souls are, how to walk, maybe they’re super giant nice pillow aliens or maybe they’re super sad tiny little newt aliens, or maybe they’re made out of ice cream. I want there to be all kinds of broken assumptions and people crying into their hands because what they thought was universal is really not universal. Long live the aliens. Outer space, please don’t disappoint me be bringing us aliens that have oval heads and long spindly fingers. Thanks.

Should Do This has done let me use my 43things account 3 cheers

We’re working on making 43 Things allow login and account creation on Should Do This via OpenID… it’s just not working quite yet. When you can log in with your 43 Things account, should there be even more integration with 43 Things (like using your picture, name, etc)? Let us know… because we can do more if people want us to do more.

taxi cabs should allow drinking in the back 2 cheers

I mean, drinking is allowed in the back of limos, and some town cars, right? What’s the big deal then? It would be okay if the cab was required to have some kind of barrier between the front and back seats, if that helped. Whatever it takes.

In addition to just making sense, this could help the cabbies make a bit more money too. And make life more fun!
