When I’m dealing with users I often have to explain in laypeople terms about cookies and javacript. Namely, why having both enabled allows for all sorts of good things to happen with websites that you frequent. The biggest concern folks have is security. They turn cookies and javascript off out of security fears, which are often just misunderstandings about how this stuff is used. I’d love a CommonCraft Show vid that explains what cookies and javascript do and also seriously addresses the average user’s security questions with respect to these two thingies.
I’d love to send this video out to concerned users as an educational tool.
A printer-friendly formatted list would be a cool thing for Lists of Bests.
Thanks for the suggestion, Tony. Capitalization standardization and spelling are juicy ones which will divide people into camps until the end of 43 Things time. So, it’s going to stay as is methinks.
A couple thoughts:
1) Capitalization (even strange capitalization) makes people happier than sadder in my estimation. This is based on non-scientific impressions from monitoring the email queue and talking to users every day.
2) spelling is another tough one that divides people (more on that later).
Gracias.
