that would be amazing and would make bus service more efficient, particularly since most non-residents use the bus in the free ride zone. it couldn’t cost that much in terms of additional taxes to pay for city-wide bus passes.
King County Metro

allow people to deboard at any time through the backdoor
I’d go further: they should always use one door for entry/paying and the other for an exit to speed up boarding and deboarding.
