More people vote on the American Idol than the American President

Voter apathy is high because the American Presidential candidates offered up by the duopoly of the Republicratic party typically represent a choice between a punch in the stomach and a kick in the head.

Americans seem unaware that there are more than two parties, and fresh ideas may come from outside the Republicratic stranglehold.

A reality show:
- Would air Several episodes a week in the run up to the presidential elections
- Would bring together independent candidates for weekly debates and challenges
- Would be Hosted/judged by pundits from all over the political spectrum
- Would reject candidates in American Idol style vote offs.
- Would award a significant campaign fund contribution to the last candidate standing so that person could be a viable third-party choice in the actual election.

Netflix should create a device that will do a surface read test on DVD check in

Each DVD would be scored a defect rating based on this test

When a customer (Mrs. Smith) returns DVDs as “unplayable”, the netflix system would note that a DVD with [X] defect rating is “unplayable” by customer Mrs. Smith.

From that point forward, customer Mrs. Smith will not be sent DVDs with a defect rating less than [X].

If Netflix detects that DVDs returned by customer Mr. Jones always have a more defects than when they were sent to him, the company can identify Mr. Jones as a customer who doesn’t know the proper handling of DVDs and follow up with him
