List of Bests is very minimal right now. While I like that, I think that letting people add entries to each item on the list would be nice.
For instance, if I make a list of Ten Favorite Books, letting me describe precisely WHY they’re my favorites might make them more useful for other people browsing my profile. Explanations could be saved as AllConsuming items, so it would be useful to purveyors of either site.
The problem with this is: Facebook is about simplicity. People you don’t know well see a limited profile, which is meant to censor out the stuff you don’t want employers seeing. Friends see everything. Anything more intimate is usually communicated via messaging rather than in a public forum for anybody to see.
Facebook has methods of finding people based on location, interests… It does not have a way of finding other people trying to get things done.
43things, I think, would fit that niche perfectly.
