people should quit using any and all kinds of tobacco 1 cheer

Bad health, bad breath, bad teeth, bad gums, spend money, get addiction.

Not good enough reasons to quit?
Well i’m sure you didn’t think about the children (and adults for that matter) who are forced to work at the tobacco fields every day, breathing tobacco dust, getting sick and not being able to afford to see a doctor.
Children as young as 3 years old are working at those fields.
Did you think about that? Did you know?
And nature is being destroyed, because nothing can grow where tobacco grows, it dries out the land making it unusable after a while, then they just move to a new spot and start wrecking the soil there.
Tobacco users are ruining these poor peoples lives. They could be growing vegetables or grain or whatever on those fields and make money off it. But you want tobacco.
You want children suffering, dying.
Don’t you?
You think it’s all about YOU well guess what, it isn’t…

All countries should make it illegal to smoke near children (incl. at home)

We have laws now against smoking in public places and that’s great and has been appreciated even by people who smoke (well, not all of them ;)) so I only wonder, when will we make it a law to not smoke at home if there are children (or other people/family members) also living there?
This should be done.
Providing a smokefree environment for children is only natural. I can’t belive my eyes when I see parents smoking around their kids, or people smoking at the bus stop while standing next to a pram.
Shame on you! Really!
It’s time to grow up and take responsibility. Smokers are not the only beings on earth and smoking cannot be an excuse for bad morals anymore.
Most of all, smoking shouldn’t be allowed to risk any childs health for!
This would ultimately be good for everyone I think.
A win/win really ;)

people should stop buying bottled water 2 cheers

Buying bottled water is both unecessary (for us) and it would be better for the environment (and us) if we started drinking tap water instead since that would mean less transportation and pollution of the world. Plus, it’s cheap! Why not drink tap water? If you desperately need bubbles in your water, or flavor, it’s fully possible to make that happen from home nowadays. So let’s stop buying bottled water!

43 Things should not make a facebook application

How sad that it’s on Facebook now. The thing is, Facebook is the complete opposite of 43things in the way that it’s a bragging site (my opinion) where your main goal is to have as many ‘friends’ as possible on your list, half of which you don’t even speak to, sometimes have never spoken to, or plan to ever speak to again. It’s a site for wasting lots of time doing Nothing. Which to me gives the difference and appeal about the 43 site where I am actually inspired to DO something (other than just collecting ‘friends’, I mean, don’t I aldready know my friends?). Well, I think also the charm about 43 things is how you find your way there. Personally, I found it when I googled to find information about joining the Peace Corps (now that didn’t work out because I’m not american but I found 43 things and have been cheered into doing the things I really want with my life, like volunteering but through organisations I have in my country). I don’t think 43 things and Facebook go together. As someone else wrote here, a great upside of 43 things is that you can be anonymous. I probably wouldn’t list my goals as honestly as I do if I knew people I know from real life might be reading them. So I think it might compromise the way we are truthful to our personal goals on 43things. And risk that for what? A little publicity for 43 things? Well, I’d be sad to see this lovely home for honest goals and dreams fall into a status-trap and become just another thing you show off to all your friends on Facebook…
