    Should do this 1 cheer

Keep in mind that Orca is coming out this fall, which will mean you only need one transit pass from Marysville to Olympia. Same card for the UPass and the monthly passes. Not a hard leap from there to a Seattle Card.

    Chicago has something like this:

Normal people can buy a stored value card from a vending machine to pay bus/train fares, but there’s also a Chicago Card Plus which you can hook up your credit card to and gives you a 10% bonus. It’s not strictly for residents but it mostly benefits frequent users.

that would be amazing and would make bus service more efficient, particularly since most non-residents use the bus in the free ride zone. it couldn’t cost that much in terms of additional taxes to pay for city-wide bus passes.

    Should do this

Okay, I stole this idea (and it’s major talking points) from Josh. But, a Seattle Card should be issued to all Seattle residents. Cardholders would get:

    • discount meter parking rates
    • discount Mariners/Seahawks tickets
    • discount at local businesses
    • free bus service
    • it should be your bus and library card all wrapped into one

Maybe I’m over-reaching on the free bus service (maybe not) but I like this idea. Other ideas for benefits?
