Andrew! Thanks for your posting. We are actually currently building Tablet Guides which will include nightlife spots as well as restaurants, shops, monuments, etc. Stay tuned! It should be live early summer.

In response to j morgan's entry, "43 Things should not allow more than 43 things, but in a specific way"

i like the idea of a future list – at the moment i just have adopted and given up goals to keep them for later so i can access them and i dont forget about them.

so maybe there could be tabs saying
is doing …
has done…
wants to do…

and maybe
wants to start … ongoing goals
is doing … ongoing goals

In response to Pierre Gorissen's entry, "Common Craft should make a video called "dotSUB in Plain English""

Hi Lee,

You’re very welcome. Though the 20 minutes it takes to do a Dutch translation stands in no comparison to the amount of work it must cost to create the videos.

It is one thing that dotSUB lacks: some sort of wiki style history of who worked on a translation (but that is something for a different suggestion list).

What you could do to encourage people to let you know who created a translation is adding a line “English translation by Lee LeFever” to the end of the transcript.
That way people could replace that line by one in the language they’re translating it in and add their name.

Thanks again for the great videos!

In response to Chris Peters's entry, "43 Things should not make a facebook application"

OpenSocial has been a huge success in these 5 months! Oh wait, it’s just another “add a widget on your site” tool, great. I’ll add another clock google gadget.

In response to Joshua Prowse's entry, "Doteasy should not place advertisements on their 404 pages"

Yes you can customize your 404 page with Doteasy as long as you are on a paid hosting plan. Paid hosting starts at $7.95/month for the Ultra plan.

Since you already have a paid hosting plan you can jump right in and take a minute to create your own 404 page. Here’s how:

In response to Bosco Carvalho's entry, "brazilians should sell carbon credits"

Hi t Knight,

that’s right!
Brazil does has a lot of carbon credits to sell. Point is: almost nobody does.
There is a kind of lettargy in the country. The industrials are already earning so much money, that they just don’t care about carbon credits. And we are running out of time…
Of course the idea is to reduce greenhouse gas emmissions and by doing that trying to extend our life span on to this small planet.
The ammount of metane generated in Brazil is huge. Not only because of the immense ammount of grasing catle, but also because the waste isn’t yet propperly separated.
Even the water reservoirs that are kept to generate ‘clean’ electricity produces metane.
There is no point in just save more trees as most people understand as an ecological attitude towards having a pro-environment mind if no pollution habits are changed.
We need more sustainable projects and education…

While there isn’t a watchlist RSS feed feature, you can subscribe to feeds for the edit history of any individual entry.

In response to Jim Carson's entry, "43 Things should streamline neighborhood watch"

I agree with you 100%. I just added another suggestion concerning NW that would streamline it, too: delete some of those goals at the source, so we wouldn’t have to vote thousands of hackers off, one by one. I mean, why is a goal like ‘be a hacker’ allowed, when the Robot cop is just going to flag it?

In response to Andrea Kelley's entry, "43 Things should allow you to see a list of your comments"

You can see your comments if you click on ‘my subscriptions’ (on your goals page); then go to the top left side of the page, there is a link to ‘your recent entries and comments’. Everything you have posted in the past month is there.

In response to alice tiara's entry, "Bank of America should integrate all their state account systems"

As an avid advocate of System Intigration for the bank, I personally have discovered a bypass for this problem. I live in washington state, and therefore have to deal with the dreaded legacy SeaFirst system. If you want all the benifits of the REAL bank of america, open an account online, first selecting your state as Arizona. It doesnt matter that you actually live in washington. Infact, you can now make deposits at the ATM in any state, regardless of where your account was opend. I personally, visit a teller if my deposit is over $100. And here’s a hint, I discovered a few months ago that you dont have to use there crazy intra-state counter deposit tickets. I was able to use one from the back of my check book and it worked fine! I since then have ordered a $3.00 book of deposit slips. This is nice because most of the info is pre-filled for you. The only thing, is its probable your teller will try and convince you that its better to open a Washingon (or Idaho) account. My new resoponce is “I’d Leave this bank before I would ever use a washington account again.” They get the picture!
