Helping You Define Your Lifestyle

Botox Treatments, Your Questions Answered

I have just returned from my very first Botox treatment that I opted for after being sick of my unsightly crows feet for far too long. I had decided against it in the past but after seeing and offer on Botox Newport Beach clinics had on, I simply couldn’t resist any longer. I am really happy with the results of my Botox and ever since I have had it done I have had nothing but kind comments from friends and family. I have also had a great deal of questions about the treatment and so I thought that I should write an article in an effort to answer any questions which you may have.

What is Botox?

This is a cosmetic treatment which is aimed to relax the muscles and reduce wrinkles and lines which you have on your face. If we are talking about science, then Botox is a Botulinum type A injection, Botox is a brand name for a universal treatment.

How Much Does It Cost?

The average price for a Botox injection is $50, naturally much of the price depends on which area is being injected and how much fluid is needed for that particular area. Some doctors can charge between $10 and $20 per unit and each course of treatment can take up a number of units, I am told that the forehead will take 20 to 25 units. Be wary of cheap Botox, if a clinic or doctor is offering Botox at a price that doesn’t seem quite right, then it is possible that they have diluted the substance or that it is not up to industry standard.

Recovery Time?

The recover time from Botox is pretty instant and as soon as you walk out of the clinic, you can go ahead and carry on with your daily life. Doctors generally recommend that you do not lie down for 4 hours after the treatment as this could cause the solution which has been injected to move away from the desired area. There is the possibility of swelling and redness but this will not last long.

What Results Will I Get?

Through the use of Botox you will see a marked difference on the winkles and lines on your face and you will look much younger. It is important to remember that Botox is not a permanent solution and that whilst you will see great results, you will need to have injections 3 – 4 months later, in order to maintain the desired appearance. The results could take 4 or 5 days to show up, sometimes even a couple of weeks as your face must get used to the new form.

Are Their Side Affects?

If the procedure has been done right, you shouldn’t suffer from anything other than the chance of a mild headache or a touch of bruising. If the treatment is to done in the right way, you could face far greater problems and you could have a reaction or a bloated face after the injections, sometimes your face may never go back to normal. For this reason it is vital that you have injections from a trained and licensed professional.

Kimberly Dey’s Top Tips to Staying Fit and Healthy

Everybody knows that we need to focus on getting and staying fit and healthy, but very few of us seem to actually be able to do it. The reality is that it is difficult. We live unhealthy lifestyles that are based on convenience and speed. If we want to become fit and healthy again, that means that we have to make some significant lifestyle changes, and that is hard to do. But the desire is clearly there. Kimberly Dey, for instance, has noticed that between $40 and $50 billion is spent on losing weight alone each and every year. The problem is that much of that money is spent on scams and products that promise the world but deliver nothing.

Diet and lifestyle are the two key things that will determine how fit and healthy you are. It is said that there is an 80/20 rule, meaning that how you look is 80% down to what you eat and 20% down to what you do in the gym. This shows just how hugely important what you eat every day actually is. And one of the things we all seem to get way too much of as of late, is red meat. Red meat isn’t just steak (steak can be very healthy, actually). Rather, it is found in burgers and various other snack foods. It is high in fat and high in purine, leading not just to weight gain but also to gout. Your meats should be white, and they should be boiled, broiled, grilled, or baked. Additionally, the focus should be mainly on fruits and vegetables, leaving the high calorie dressings away.

Other types of lifestyle changes also have to be implemented, however. That 20% exercise is still an important 20%. Once you have reached your target weight, the percentage actually shifts a little bit, because you then start to work out to modify your shape. Either way, exercise is vital to a healthy, fit body. The great thing about exercise is that there are so man different options out there. For instance, you can go to a gym and lift weights, you can take an aerobics class and dance about for an hour, you can go swimming or cycling, and so on. Whatever you decide to do, however, you must start by warming up and finish by cooling down. Without it, you will produce excessive lactic acid, which causes pain the muscles and will make you give up. Similarly, doing the same thing over and over again gets very boring.

Last but not least, you have to be willing and ready to give up on your vices. Smoking is an absolute no-no, as it can lead to heart disease, arteriosclerosis, various other vascular conditions, and, of course, cancer. Similarly, you need to curb your alcohol consumption and never drink to excess. That said, some alcohol consumption is good, because it can lead to vasodilation, which helps to protect your heart. A healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be completely boring, in other words.
