I have just returned from my very first Botox treatment that I opted for after being sick of my unsightly crows feet for far too long. I had decided against it in the past but after seeing and offer on Botox Newport Beach clinics had on, I simply couldn’t resist any longer. I am really happy with the results of my Botox and ever since I have had it done I have had nothing but kind comments from friends and family. I have also had a great deal of questions about the treatment and so I thought that I should write an article in an effort to answer any questions which you may have.
What is Botox?
This is a cosmetic treatment which is aimed to relax the muscles and reduce wrinkles and lines which you have on your face. If we are talking about science, then Botox is a Botulinum type A injection, Botox is a brand name for a universal treatment.
How Much Does It Cost?
The average price for a Botox injection is $50, naturally much of the price depends on which area is being injected and how much fluid is needed for that particular area. Some doctors can charge between $10 and $20 per unit and each course of treatment can take up a number of units, I am told that the forehead will take 20 to 25 units. Be wary of cheap Botox, if a clinic or doctor is offering Botox at a price that doesn’t seem quite right, then it is possible that they have diluted the substance or that it is not up to industry standard.
Recovery Time?
The recover time from Botox is pretty instant and as soon as you walk out of the clinic, you can go ahead and carry on with your daily life. Doctors generally recommend that you do not lie down for 4 hours after the treatment as this could cause the solution which has been injected to move away from the desired area. There is the possibility of swelling and redness but this will not last long.
What Results Will I Get?
Through the use of Botox you will see a marked difference on the winkles and lines on your face and you will look much younger. It is important to remember that Botox is not a permanent solution and that whilst you will see great results, you will need to have injections 3 – 4 months later, in order to maintain the desired appearance. The results could take 4 or 5 days to show up, sometimes even a couple of weeks as your face must get used to the new form.
Are Their Side Affects?
If the procedure has been done right, you shouldn’t suffer from anything other than the chance of a mild headache or a touch of bruising. If the treatment is to done in the right way, you could face far greater problems and you could have a reaction or a bloated face after the injections, sometimes your face may never go back to normal. For this reason it is vital that you have injections from a trained and licensed professional.
